End of the season

Well, its been a very sucessfull first season for our new slalomists,

In breif

Grace Marshall, 29th in Division 1, 6th highest in her age group (J14 for next year) and 3rd English paddler in that group.

George and Leo Marshall  8th in Prem/one C2.

Long standing club member Gaz Wilson has also come 8th in premier  C1 and won the welsh championships.

Teeside

This weekend was the last races of the season for DBCCC paddlers at Tees Barrage.

Saturday was Division 1 where Grace kept up her impressive start to the division.

She came 14th out of 24, which added to 2 similar results last weekend at Llandsuyl, means she finishes the season with over 150 points from just 3 races!

George and Leo came 2nd in C2, gaining 250 points, their best points total of the season.

Sunday saw the premier race, with the George and Leo gaining their first prem win! We were 4th out of 5 after first runs but pulled off a much faster second run to take 1st place by less than a second from 4 other junior crews, and Adam and Andrew Marshall who got a 50 second penalty on their first run.

Grace Promoted to Div 1!

Last weekend at Bala Grace was promoted to Division 1. Thought I’d put some photos up of her winning by a huge margin of 7 seconds!

And afterwards…

A promotion bun and ice pop!

A new slalomist!

Slalom at DBCCC appears to be steadily growing!

Jonno raced at the Stone Div3/4 event yesterday. It was his first time in a slalom boat and as he is more used to playboats it was quite an eye opener for him. However, he raced into 4th place in the Div4 event finishing as top Junior paddler as well. He raced as U16 but beat all the other non placed U18 and other juniors so took the Top junior prize. 4th place also guaranteed promotion to Div3! Incidentally, had he raced in Div3 instead he would have finished 2nd in that race. Congratulations
